Pragoprojekt Deployed Raydesk Virtual Desktop

Prague 19 August 2010 – Stickfish, the VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) technology specialist, implemented the new version of the Raydesk 3.0 multiplatform virtual desktop environment for Pragoprojekt. Desktop virtualisation at Pragoprojekt will lower the costs of operation and user administration as compared to classic PC's.

The Raydesk virtual desktop has been deployed at the Planá nad Lužnicí branch of the project engineering company, Pragoprojekt. The VDI solution from Stickfishis unique in the fact that, as opposed to other VDI products, it is not tied to any particular operating system. Instead, it supports a broad range of environments and allows its users to make use of the advantages of applications from any operating system during one session.

Pragoprojekt runs Raydesk 3.0 on Sun Fire X2200 servers with the Sun StorageTek J4200 disk storage. End user workstations are the Sun Ray 2 ultra thin clients with power consumption of only 4W.
