WYSE Linux thin clients
Wyse Technology is the global leader in thin computing and client virtualization. Wyse and its partners, Citrix®, IBM®, Microsoft®, VMware®, and others deliver the hardware, infrastructure software, and services that formulate the benefits of cloud computing, virtualization, and Green IT. These thin computing solutions allow individuals and enterprises to access the application information they need, but with better security, manageability, and at a much lower total cost of ownership than a PC. Wyse is headquartered in San Jose, California, with offices worldwide.
The Wyse line of thin and now zero clients have led the industry for eleven years running. When integrated with additional hardware, software, and services they become part of a complete solution to a business problem. Wyse thin clients run Windows, Java, Linux, UNIX and web-based applications safely on Microsoft Windows Terminal Services, Citrix Application Delivery, and VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) servers using thin display protocols. Applications do not traverse the network and are not downloaded into the thin client, eliminating user security and bandwidth issues common with PCs. Wyse Linux thin clients are adaptable thin client that is scalable from a simple appliance to robust workhorse.

Flexible, secure, and manageable thin-client solution

Wyse Enhanced SUSE Linux Enterprise is the industry’s only enterprise-quality Linux operating system that combines the security, flexibility, and market-leading usability of SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell with Wyse’s thin computing optimizations in management and user experience. It is ideal for organizations who want to run server-based, web-based, or local applications (including legacy applications) without the deployment and security concerns of a non-standard Linux distribution.
Wyse Enhanced SUSE Linux Enterprise makes deploying Linux easier than any other thin-linux distribution by allowing devices to auto-upgrade and be centrally configured without the need for management software—all that is needed is a simple FTP server and a single text-based configuration file. Should administrators desire asset tracking or more hands-on management, they can use Wyse Device Manager at no additional charge (Workgroup edition). Additionally, with Wyse Enhanced SUSE Linux Enterprise, administrators can lock down applications, disable unnecessary configuration options, and provide read-only access capabilities to minimize data loss in case of theft, corruption, or virus attacks.
